My First Podcast

accounting numbers podcast Mar 11, 2020
I’m on a podcast!  My very first one!  Can you tell I’m excited?

This week I’m a guest on Emma Ward’s “The Freelancer’s Teabreak” which I’m really excited about!  I have never been on a podcast and I love listening to one when I’m out and about.

I thought it would be stressful to appear on a podcast, and was really nervous, but Emma put me at ease and we just chatted, so I forgot we were recording.  We talked all things numbers and had a bit of a rant about prices on websites (spoiler alert: we are both of the view that they should be there!)

Click here to listen or search for “The Freelancer’s Teabreak” wherever you get your podcasts.

I believe it is so critical to know your numbers, and many people start out as freelancers with no skill in this area.  I don’t think you can run your business properly without really knowing your numbers, so I will be putting some resources into Emma’s “Freelance Business Lounge” membership when she launches at the end of the month.

Emma’s free group “The Freelance Lifestylers” is a great place if you are in business on your own to get advice on a regular basis.

She is also opening the Freelance Lounge at the end of the month. I'm in there already and there are loads of great resources, from legal to templates for social media. Click here to find out more (affiliate link).

Having resources and a tribe around you to support you is really important, group’s like Emma’s have made a huge difference when I feel overwhelmed with my business, and can also help when you need extra resource to build your business. Find your tribe online and they can really help you grow.

Are you a sole trader?
This week I’m launching my “Guide to being a Sole Trader”.  If you are a sole trader, you don't want a fancy accounting system that you can't use and don't really need. Get my guide with all the information you need to run your business day to day. For just £27 you get a bundle of user guides and spreadsheets to be able to manage your business. It’s never too late to start tracking your numbers, so start now! (you don't need to be a spreadsheet whizz)
